We're back from another great Gen Con, and thanks to our incredible volunteers, it might have been our best year yet. If you didn't make it to the show, don't worry - we've got you covered.
In this month's newsletter, we're going over what made this year's Gen Con great, Iron Painter (our annual painting competition), the latest Chronicles issue, and... (drumroll, please) our closed beta! Keep scrolling down to find out more.
We had a lot of great stuff to talk about at this year's Gen Con. We showed off more of The Other Side's models (the Gorysche has some serious board presence), what The Other Side's boxes look like, and of course, gave a glimpse of Malifaux Third Edition.
Concerns were alleviated, worries were absolved, and the hype skyrocketed. Players got an exclusive look at some new sculpts for both Marcus' and Rasputina's crews, such as the Order Initiates, Wendigo, and Snowstorm. The fantastic updated stat cards were also on the table, gathering collective "ooooh's" and "aaahhh's" from curious passersby.
But in Gen Con tradition, as soon as we got back from the big event, we started planning for the next one. There's just too much awesome stuff that we're working on behind closed doors to talk about in one con!
Here at Wyrd, we love our painting competitions. We started the year off with Creature Feature, then cleaned our palette for Total Testosterone, and then we just put the last touches with Femme Fatale. But the year's not over, and neither are we.
Our big annual competition, the Iron Painter, is now open for sign-ups, and Round One will begin August 20th. It's time to wash your brushes, pick up some flock, and prep your paint stations, because this year is going to be just as grueling as the last. We can't wait to see how creative our amazing community is with a paint brush.

Since we announced Malifaux Third Edition, there's been a ton of speculation of what's being changed, updated, removed, added, and so on. We haven't talked about a whole lot of specifics just yet, but we're very close to revealing what's behind the curtain.
Sign-ups for the closed beta are available now, but we are only accepting requests up through the 17th of August. If you want to have a part in testing your favorite models, make sure to head your way there and fill out the form. We'll be launching the closed beta on August 20th, so you'd better sign up soon!

Most Mondays, we release a look at something upcoming in our Monday Preview. These are a great opportunity to see what Wyrd is working on and what's coming down the pipeline. We have a lot of things to show off, so check back every Monday!
Every other Thursday, we release a free podcast called the Tales of Malifaux as part of our Breachside Broadcast. This podcast goes through the Malifaux fiction one story at a time, starting all the way back to the first book in the first edition. It's a great way to catch up on our old stories or go through them again.
